Buckets of Hope

This week our Sunday School class decided to donate a bucket for the people of Haiti. Baptist Global Response is the organization who is heading up this project to feed the people in Haiti. We had a great time purchasing the specific items and packing the bucket, which will be delivered to the SC Baptist organization in Columbia, and then be shipped to Haiti.
BGR is no stranger to us, as we had been acquainted with them while working in Zambia. In fact, these same kind of buckets (with different materials) were provided for people living with AIDS in Africa. This is a wonderful project and our missionaries on the field appreciate the donations from churches in the States who provide them. Thank you, Southern Baptists, for what you are doing to help!

More SNOW

It's a good thing the kids were already out of school today. The snow started around 2-3pm and Lizzie was anxious to get outside.

Kelsey had a time walking Lizzie in the snow. Lizzie just wanted to play and pull on the leash. Meanwhile, Austin begins making a snowman as the sun is setting.

At 7am the next morning, Kelsey was up and ready to go back outside in the snow.
Here's our "snow angel"
Lizzie went out and found that the snowman had a carrot for a nose. She decided Mr. Snowman didn't need that nose so she would just eat it!
Here's our neighborhood with about 3-4 inches of snow.
These are views from our upstairs looking onto the mountains.

Everytime the door opened, Lizzie bolted out onto the porch to eat some snow.
"Mom, please let me go back out!?"
Our house covered in SNOW!

Baby, it's COLD outside!

So, I thought I had missed all the cold weather while on the cruise. NOT! January ended with a little snow for us, and the cold weather does not want to leave us. I guess the cold has also frozen my blog since I seem to not have anything to write about.
Since my last post, Ricky & I have started a new diet program. I will wait to tell you the actual success we are having until the end of our "phase" which will be about the end of February.
I've been reading too since it's too cold to go outside. Here's what I'm reading at the moment:
Did You THINK To Pray? by R.T. Kendall
5 Conversations you must have with your daughter by Vicki Courtney
The first book is being read and studied by my Sunday School Class. And the other one I picked up one day in hopes of being prepared for the conversations I am already starting to have with my 8 (going on 9) daughter. Oh, my! They have a Bible Study for this book too, so I am thinking I should get one started.
As you can see from the picture, our Lizzie (9 months old) is getting cuter everyday. She is such a good girl! She had just been to Mrs. Christie's for her grooming day and 2 days later was covered in mud because she got loose in the horse pasture...on a Sunday morning when we were ready for church. Needless to say, Ricky had to have another bath before going to church.
Looking forward to a long weekend with my family!
